A running head is simply an abbreviated version of the title of the document, in ALL CAPITALS, followed by the page number. If you have a very short title you do not need to abbreviate it.

See the APA paper templates on the library's APA Guide. The templates are Word documents all set up with the basic APA format that you will need. This is a great way to start all of your papers. Make the appropriate changes and then hit 'save as' to save the paper you have just started.
