Capitalize any proper nouns and the first word of the title and subtitle. Book titles are italicized. For example: Nerds: Who they are and why we need more of them.

If it's an article in a journal, magazine, or newspaper, you capitalize it as it's capitalized in the publication. You do not italicize the article title; rather, you italicize the journal title. For example: Ivermectin toxicosis in three adult horses, Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Some titles aren't italicized in citations, like blog post titles. You can find more examples by going to the APA Guide.
