You can use our APA Citation Guide to find out how to format lots of different kinds of references, including websites.

Here are some examples:

Webpage – With Organization as Author

General Form

Name of Organization. (year, Month day). Title of webpage. Retrieved from http://url

Example

US Department of Energy. (2013, November 25). Wood and pellet heating.Retrieved from http://energy.gov/energysaver/articles/wood-and-pellet-heating

Webpage – No Author, No Date

General Form

Title of webpage. (n.d.). Retrieved Month day, year from Site Name website: http://url

Note: If a website does not have a date or an author, take a minute to consider: is it a good source of information?

Note: If a website may be updated frequently (wikis), include the date day you accessed the page in the citation.

Example

How to make Nutella hot chocolate. (n.d.). Retrieved June 24, 2014 from wikiHow: http://www.wikihow.com/Nutella
